Two Miami University students who were tested for coronavirus have the all-clear.Officials said the results came in on Sunday.People we talked with said they’re happy to hear the results and that this situation also highlights how quickly an illness can spread.”It’s definitely going to lift a weight off our shoulders, having to be so much extra cautious about just taking care of ourselves, worrying about the community and what it could do,” Katie Wicker said.Wicker is breathing a sigh of relief as the two students got negative results after being tested for the novel coronavirus. She works on campus and graduated from the school in 2017.”I didn’t worry about it. Beyoncé, Jay-Z sit during national anthem at Super Bowl

Video of Beyoncé and Jay-Z sitting while Demi Lovato sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl surfaced online. The video, posted by TMZ, Sunday showed the celebrity couple sitting along with daughter Blue Ivy at Hard Rock Stadium, where the San Francisco 49ers were playing the Kansas City Chiefs.Jay-Z, a co-producer of the halftime show featuring Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, announced his Roc Nation company had entered a partnership with the NFL for events and social activism last year. The rapper received immediate backlash since he had become one of the biggest supporters of Colin Kaepernick, who sparked a fissure in the NFL when he decided to kneel when the national anthem was played before games to protest the killings of black people by police officers. Jay-Z’s response was that he still supports protesting, kneeling and Kaepernick but he’s also interested in working with the league to make substantial changes.Representatives for Jay-Z and Beyoncé didn’t immediately reply to emails seeking comment.

BTS’ J-Hope Fronts ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ Comeback Trailer ‘Outro: Ego’ – Billboard

February 2nd, 2020

Today (Feb. 2), BTS released the latest song off their upcoming Map of the Soul: 7 album, J-Hope’s solo track “Outro: Ego.”

A funky track typical of the star’s bright and infectious style as a soloist, most prominently seen on his 2018 Hope World mixtape, “Outro: Ego” follows the prior releases of Suga’sInterlude: Shadow” and the album’s first single, “Black Swan.”

The new song was released through a music video today that kicks off by referencing the intro track and debut trailer for BTS’ very first album, 2013’s 2 Cool 4 Skool, and features J-Hope ruminating on the choices that, while not always easy, have led him to where he is now as a member of BTS, seven years since the act’s debut on June 13, 2013.

“Now I don’t care, it’s all choices by my fate so we’re here/ look ahead, the way is shinin’ / keep going now,” he proclaims during the chorus.

Throughout the track and video — which incorporates many visual nods to previously released BTS contents — the artist reflects on his career, and the decisions and hardship he’s faced, including the dichotomy between his stage persona and his birth identity, Jeong Ho-seok. “Outro: Ego” ultimately ends with his declaration of self and ego as he appears within a colorful city “in which the artist’s current image is projected,” as per a press release about the song.

“Shadow” and “Ego” are two elements of Jungian psychoanalysis as laid out by Jung’s Map of the Soul by Murray Stein, a book associated with the BTS album series that kicked off with last year’s Billboard 200 chart-topper Map of the Soul: Persona.

BTS will release Map of the Soul: 7 on Feb. 21.

Baby Nut meme pages were created before Super Bowl reveal – Insider – INSIDER

February 2nd, 2020
  • Planters attempted to create a viral Super Bowl moment by bringing Mr. Peanut back as “Baby Nut.”
  • Though evocative of Baby Yoda, the move was clearly planned as a branding effort.
  • Meme pages were created before Baby Nut’s rollout.
  • The move could violate Twitter’s rules against spam.
  • Visit Insider’s homepage for more stories.

Planters, the nut brand, had engineered the perfect viral moment for the 2020 Super Bowl — killing its mascot, Mr. Peanut, and bringing him back as Baby Nut, a smaller, cuter version of the character that immediately brings Baby Yoda to mind.

But unlike Baby Yoda’s virality — which appeared to be a grassroots internet movement driven purely by the cuteness of the character in Disney’s “The Mandalorian” — Baby Nut’s debut came with an infrastructure designed to produce internet stardom, showing the lengths to which companies will go to ensure they get a viral moment.

Planters appears to have made multiple meme pages for Baby Nut before its rollout

A typical sign of major viral moments in the past few years has been the appearance of meme pages devoted to sharing images and videos joking about the topic at hand. With Baby Yoda, hundreds if not thousands of meme pages were made by fans or people interested in capitalizing on interest in Baby Yoda memes.

Now, with Baby Nut, it appears we’re seeing corporations catch on to the trend, manufacturing their own meme pages before the rollout of the character.

After the debut of Baby Nut during the Super Bowl, the verified @MrPeanut account retweeted memes from separate accounts about Baby Nut. For most viral moments this wouldn’t be surprising, but upon further inspection, the accounts that were retweeted were created in January, before the public knew about Baby Nut — suggesting that they were part of the ad campaign.

One account that was shared, Baby Nut Expressions (@BabyNutLOL), had 46 followers at the time of this writing and almost immediately began sharing memes about Baby Nut after the commercial.

Another account, @BabyNutReal, had 37 followers at the time of this writing and was created in September — and similarly began sharing Baby Nut memes shortly after the commercial aired.

@BabyNutBaby, @BabyNutMemes, and @BabyNutFanpage were also created in January, before the rollout of Baby Nut, and shared similar memes. @BabyNutMemes liked a tweet from @MrPeanut as early as January 14.

Kraft Heinz, the parent company of Planters, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The accounts could violate Twitter’s rules against spam

While Twitter allows for easy account creation, an organized effort to attempt to amplify homebrewed Baby Nut memes could violate the company’s policies on spam and platform manipulation, which says, “You may not use Twitter’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Twitter.”

Specifically, Twitter calls out “coordinated activity, that attempts to artificially influence conversations through the use of multiple accounts, fake accounts, automation and/or scripting,” and “operating multiple accounts with overlapping use cases, such as identical or similar personas or substantially similar content.” Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

While such activity isn’t unheard of around businesses and brands, the use of meme pages specifically to amplify a specific viral moment such as Baby Nut signals a new corporate understanding of the internet ecosystem.
